OK, the cat's out of the bag. This is about my brushed metal, hand-crafted bulletin board. It's also about my obsession with paper crafts in general, and paper mache in particular. I'm in constant awe of how inspiring deviantART can be. And particularly, I feel a ton of admiration (bordering on envy) for visual artists... To me, it's humbling to imagine how you can develop a picture in their head, they can just reach for their tools of choice and draw/paint it. Not quite as simple for us photographers! Needless to say, I've befriended a number of amazing visual artists here, whose work I collect with immense pleasure. When I lived in the US, I took to Polaroid Transfers like fish in the water, and even expected to continue this type of work here in Mexico. Unfortunately, this never actually happened. First off, E-6 processing (the type of film processing required for 35mm slides) was only offered in larger cities, making it impractical for me to shoot slides. For a while, Polaroid 669 film was still available in the US, but with its recent demise, I've pretty much gotten rid of all the equipment I carefully brought from the US to continue creating these images.
