OK, the cat's out of the bag.

This is about my brushed metal, hand-crafted bulletin board. It's also about my obsession with paper crafts in general, and paper mache in particular.

And since I haven't upgraded my DA account, I cannot embed a pretty link to the photo I wish to share, so here is a not-so-pretty link to something I uploaded to my Scrapbook today:

There are some creations I've found here and at Y! that I truly, truly like. And despite the fact that it's not kosher to reproduce somebody else's work without consent, I've printed a few on my Epson printer and turned them into magnetic frames. Using recycled cardboard from the local Costco or Sam's, I use old newspapers cut into small pieces and paper mache them (gracias mamá, for all the wonderful crafty things I learned from you as a kid).

For some images, I just cut cardboard to size and attache them as is. For others, I've actually cut a rectangular frame out of cardboard, which I've covered with stock frames I've found here and elsewhere. Finally, I finish the pieces with glossy water-based varnish and use my hot glue gun to attach small magnets behind them.

My bulletin board is directly in front of my computer at home, so I'm thrilled to constantly be reminded of the great work being produced here at DA.

SO!

If you see your work on my bulletin board:
Please be flattered! I probably shouldn't have reproduced it without your consent. But rest assured, it lives in front of my workplace to inspire me, constantly.

If you don't see your work on my bulletin board:
Sooner or later, it will be there. For better or worse, you know who you are, whose work I truly admire.

Thank you for the favorite :)

Alistair: I get it. I get it. Just so you know, if the king ever asks me to put on a dress and dance the Remigold, I'm drawing the line. Darkspawn or no.
Archer Cousland: I don't know. That could be a great distraction.

My pleasure!
